Growth & Pain

Growing pains. Growth is something new. Growth is unexplored territory. Growth is fearful because you never know what to expect out of it.  Growth is painful because of the stretch it often requires. Life is a growing process. In 26 years Nate Jordan has cultivated much of what has been put within him, but that journey of growth was not an easy one.

Books are to knowledge as pain is to soul
— Nate Jordan

FIRE & PRessure

Fire refines gold. Pressure makes diamonds. Fiery trials are often feared by those about to step into them. Yet those very trials, when they are over, are the circumstances that people often exult over and are most thankful for. Many times people do not know what they are capable of until some sort of pressure draws it out of them. Pressure is a great revealer of character and strength. In 26 years Nate Jordan has learned to not only expect fire and pressure, but to earnestly accept both and choose to grow as a result.

Higher learning undergoes emotional pressure.

Life is the narrative, music is the poem. There is beauty in reading or watching a story unfold. But it seems most of the enjoyment of an event or milestone is the rehashing of it. Most of Nate Jordan's music reminisces on the failures and victories of his past, whether those were internal or external.  Nate has been privileged with a roller-coaster life and when that is relived through poetry over drums, emotions are stirred into a whirlwind that gets captured on a mic. Nate admits that, as an artist, sometimes music can take over his life. Therefore he strives for balance in life and seeks to use the gift of music as a tool to be wielded and not an idol to be worshiped.

The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.
— Aristotle

Faith & Future

So where is this journey taking him? Nate has been doing music for 11 years and continues to pursue the art. It is apparent that his art has matured over the years. It came from a place of pleasure-seeking and base, animalistic desires to a peak of internal reflection on mistakes made and dreams sought to be realized. But was that the pinnacle? Does the evolution continue? Nate Jordan cannot predict future particularities but he does seek progress and development. He is not scared of the unknown and the obstacles before him are seen as only chances for blessings. As Nate is seeking balance in life and art, he is also letting you in on his experience. He doesn't have all the answers, but he does ask good questions. Journey with Nate on his path to illumination. Much water has passed under the bridge, even still floods are expected. With the impending future in mind, through faith in Christ Nate is seeking to speak to the hearts of his fans, create in excellence, and ultimately glorify God with the time and talent he is blessed to have.

Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything
— Plato
